Happy Saturday! I hope you’ve all had a lovely week and are enjoying a nice weekend. This week was a productive one that was spent getting back into a routine. I had taken some vacation time away from work a couple of weeks ago but I feel like I’m finally back into my groove, which is nice. I am definitely a person who does well with routines. Here are some little things that brought me joy this week:
Park Dates
Last weekend we met up with my sister, her fiancé, and our niece so that the kids could have a park play date. It was windy, but so nice to get some fresh air. H did so well and had a lot of fun! This was only the second time taking him to a park (the first time he was quite timid and not very interested), but this time he got on the play structure, slid down the slide, and ran around the field. It was the perfect way to spend an hour before coming home to make dinner and I hope to do this a lot more as the weather gets warmer.
Toddler Snuggles
H is such an affectionate boy, but as he’s gotten older (and busier), we don’t snuggle as much as we used to. This week on multiple occasions though, I’ve gotten to have some good snuggle sessions with my baby. He’s growing so fast and this was a good reminder to really soak everything up!
Birthday Cake Chocolate Chip Cookies
These cookies are something I have made for years and they’re still one of my favourite recipes. I actually shared the recipe at Christmastime. I found some pastel sprinkles in my baking cupboard and decided to whip up a batch so we had a sweet treat on hand this week. They’re so delicious and equally as pretty!
Phone Chats with Mumsy
Fun fact: I talk to my mom (mumsy) on the phone nearly every evening. We catch up and share about our days as well as anything else that’s on our minds. I swear they’re as good as going to therapy for me! I’m so thankful to have such a close relationship with her. I have been lucky to have always been close with her, but I cherish our chats even more now that I’m a wife and mother. She offers a new perspective when I need one and I’m so grateful that she’s always there to listen to my crazy ideas and rants!
Workout Dates
I started going to the gym on a semi-regular basis a couple of months ago now. I have been enjoying it a lot and this week I got the chance to bring Cole along with me! Our schedules don’t often allow for us to work out together so we took advantage of a little free time on Thursday afternoon and met up on my lunch break. It was so fun and a different way for us to get to spend time together.
