Happy Saturday! This week I turned 33. I sometimes can’t believe I’m in my thirties, but I’m actually really looking forward to the year ahead. I had a lovely time celebrating with my people and am feeling so blessed. We’re supposed to have some nice weather for Mother’s Day tomorrow too, which has me very thankful. It’s been a mostly rainy/overcast week for us but things are really starting to bloom, which I love! Here are some happy little things from the past week:
Puddle Jumping
Last weekend we went for a family walk in the afternoon after the rain had cleared. There were lots of puddles, so H and I made sure to wear our rain boots. Normally he doesn’t care much about the puddles, but this time he was actually so excited. We jumped in every one we saw and it brought me so much joy! He was laughing his head off and it was pure bliss.
Fruit Salad
It has been ages since I’ve made a fruit salad, but we had some berries that needed to be used up this week so I turned them into a fruit salad with some sliced bananas and mandarin oranges. I topped the bowls with a little dollop of coconut cream and the slightest drizzle of honey and the end result was so delicious! I expect lots of fruit salads in our future this summer, so if you have a favourite recipe, please send it my way.
Golden Hour
Our apartment gets the afternoon sun and golden hour lighting after I get H tucked into bed has been extra nice this week! I have been loving the longer evenings and now that it’s starting to get warmer, I’m excited to spend them out on our balcony.
Journaling
I felt very compelled to journal last week after a hiatus and it felt so good! It’s such a release for me and really helps my mental health. It’s something I often don’t make time for these days, but I really want to be better about it.
