I love a holiday simmer pot. While technically not a recipe you’ll want to eat, I think you’re still going to enjoy today’s post. Simmer pots are a great, natural alternative to candles when it comes to keeping your home smelling festive. They only take a few minutes to prepare and your home will smell incredible for hours.
All you need to do is grab a medium sized pot. Add in some orange slices, fresh cranberries, a couple cinnamon sticks, some whole cloves, and some water. Bring everything to a boil and then turn down to a simmer for as long as desired.
You can play around with what you put in your simmer pot. This is just my personal favourite for the holidays. I will often make one on a Saturday and then leave it in the pot (with the heat turned off) and save it for the Sunday. It doesn’t look as pretty, but add some more water and heat and your home will smell just as lovely as the day before!
