Homemade tartar sauce is a staple in our home. It’s so quick and easy to prepare and tastes much better than any store-bought ones we’ve tried.
It only uses a few ingredients and really elevates a fish dinner. Whether we’re having fish and chips, or a classic salmon dinner, Cole is always requesting to have this alongside our meal.
In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, lemon juice, garlic powder, and chopped dill. Mix it together well and serve. It’s that easy and is a hit every time!
Tartar Sauce
Ingredients
- 1 cup mayonnaise
- juice of 1 lemon
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/8 cup dill, chopped
Instructions
- Combine all ingredients in a small bowl, mixing until well combined.
- Serve alongside your meal.
Because this homemade tartar sauce is so quick to prepare, I usually just make it fresh each time, but I’d recommend using dried dill if you’re looking to make a bunch and save it for more than a few days.
