Today I’m excited to share something a bit different than my usual content. We’re still going to be pretty food-focused over here, but I want to start sharing some more beauty and lifestyle content as well. Years ago when I began my blogging journey, I mainly focused on beauty. It was a fun passion of mine that I miss from time to time. While I’m not up on all of the latest beauty trends like I used to be, I’m still really passionate about the beauty space and thought it would be fun to share with you my pregnancy skincare routine!
I normally have dry, acne-prone skin (even though I’m in my thirties) and that doesn’t really change with pregnancy for me. The main difference in my skin when I’m pregnant is that I seem to get rosacea every time! My cheeks in particular get really red and bumpy. I’ve discovered a few products that really seem to help soothe my skin without making things worse that I want to share. Whether you’re also pregnant and looking for some pregnancy-safe skincare (because a lot of it isn’t), or just have sensitive skin or rosacea, you’re going to love these products:
Clinique All About Clean Cleanser
This cleanser was my go-to the last time I was pregnant and is one I’ve continued to use ever since. It’s refreshing on the skin and the gel texture isn’t too rich for my acne-prone skin. All skin types can actually benefit from using this cleanser.
The Ordinary Glycolic Acid 7% Exfoliating Toner
This is one of my favourite toners, so I was delighted to discover it was safe for pregnancy! It feels so refreshing on the skin and works to improve your skin’s texture and boost radiance. It helps remove dead skin cells and is gentle enough for my sensitive skin.
The Ordinary Azelaic Acid Suspension
People swear by this stuff to help with acne during pregnancy, so I had to give it a try! Most products that treat acne are not safe during pregnancy because of the salicylic acid, so it can be hard to find anything to help. I have only been using this a short while, but I feel like it is starting to help clear up my skin. I will say that despite the cream texture, it is quite drying on my skin, so I highly recommend following up with a good moisturizer after!
Clinique Moisture Surge Overnight Mask
The entire Moisture-Surge line from Clinique is a must-have as we head into the colder winter months for me normally, but I am especially loving it as I am pregnant. The cream texture of this mask feels cooling and nourishing on the skin and really helps to keep my skin hydrated. And, for the morning I will typically use the Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion.
That is my short but sweet skincare lineup these days! What are some of your favourite skincare products during pregnancy? Let me know in a comment below!
