Spinach Dip

Spinach Dip

Jump to Recipe Print Recipe

I am really excited to share today’s recipe with you! My spinach dip is always a hit and something I have been making for years and years. It’s simple to make and is always a crowd pleaser at holiday gatherings. I’m actually planning on taking this to our Christmas Eve celebration this year.

To make it, you’ll need some cream cheese, frozen chopped spinach, diced red pepper, diced green onion, garlic powder, and shredded cheese.

Course: Appetizer, Dip
Keyword: appetizer, dip, spinach
Servings: 6 Servings

Ingredients

  • 8 Ounces Cream Cheese, at room temperature
  • 150 Grams Chopped Frozen Spinach
  • 1 Green Onion, chopped
  • 3 Tbsp Red Pepper, diced
  • 2 Tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/4 Cup Parmesan Cheese
  • 1/2 Cup Cheddar Cheese, shredded

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven to 400.
  • In a medium sized bowl, mix together the cream cheese, green onion, red pepper, garlic powder, and Parmesan until well combined.
  • In a microwave-safe bowl, heat the spinach in the microwave for approximately 2 minutes. Squeeze out excess water and add to the spinach to the cream cheese mixture. Stir until well combined.
  • Transfer the dip to an oven-safe dish and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  • Bake for 15-18 minutes and let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

It only takes a few minutes to prepare and the cook time isn’t long either! I like to serve the spinach dip with homemade pita chips if I have the time or with tortilla chips. I’m opting to use tortilla chips this holiday season to save time, but their saltiness and crunch pair really well with the richness of this dip!

This dip is rich and creamy but is also loaded with veggies. With all the sweet treats over the holidays, this dip can be a welcome addition to any party for something different. I know over the holidays I tend to crave vegetables more to offset all the treats I’m having, and this helps get some in while still partaking in the festivities. It’s by no means a salad, but it does offer some veggies and fresh flavour!

This recipe has been a favourite of mine since I first started making it and I hope you enjoy it too if you decide to give it a try. We certainly enjoy it year round, but it’s always a welcome addition when entertaining so I figured now was the perfect time to share.

Let me know if you decide to try my Spinach Dip in a comment below. I would love to hear what you think of it!
