I have loved to bake as long as I can remember. But, for whatever reason I was always super intimidated when it came to baking bread. It seemed so complicated and I was never up for the challenge. That being said, I discovered the easiest bread recipe from a post Liv B. shared and figured I’d give it a try; because who doesn’t want their home smelling of freshly baked bread?!
This recipe really was so simple and I’ve made countless loaves since first trying it. It feels essentially foolproof and it gives me a real sense of satisfaction every time I slice into a loaf. All you need is a dutch oven and very minimal ingredients!
To make the bread, all you need to do is mix together 3 cups of all-purpose flour, 2 teaspoons of instant yeast (has to be instant), 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of sugar, and a cup and a half of warm water in a large bowl. Then, cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let sit for at least 3 hours.
When your 3 hours are up, place your dutch oven in the oven and preheat to 450°F. Once it’s heated up, leave your dutch oven in for another 15-20 minutes to get nice and hot. Then, roll your dough into a ball, pop it in the dutch oven and bake (covered) for 30 minutes and then uncovered for another 10. You then have the most delicious loaf of bread!
This recipe is so simple and yet totally impressive. It tastes great and if you’re like me and store-bought bread can sometimes not agree with you, this recipe is a must-try. I’ve been baking them for our family to enjoy weekly but also as housewarming gifts for friends and family!
