Cole could eat a burger every day if he could. They are his favourite food! But, with barbecue season coming to an end I wanted to find a way we could still incorporate burgers into our dinner menu from time to time. Enter these cheeseburger sliders.
While they’re a bit crumblier than a traditional burger, they taste all the same! They’re super cute and both Cole and Hudson were big fans. They came together relatively quickly and were very filling. We had lots of leftovers, making this a great option for larger families.
I started off by cooking the ground beef in a frying pan with a little salt, garlic powder, and onion powder. While the meat was cooking I assembled the burger sauce. In a small bowl, I combined some mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, garlic powder, and relish. I gave it a good mix and set aside.
Once the meat was done, I took slider buns and cut them in half, placing the bottom half on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. I evenly spread the homemade burger sauce over the buns with a knife. I then evenly spread out the ground beef over the slider buns and topped with shredded cheese. I placed the tops of the buns on and brushed them with some melted butter that I had mixed with a little oregano. I then pressed on some sesame seeds to each slider and baked them at 350°F for 10-12 minutes.
