Chocolate chip cookies are one of my most-made desserts. They’re so easy to make, taste incredible, and are a staple. We’re settling into a new fall routine this week in our household, so I whipped up a batch of these classic cookies as a treat. They’re a delicious treat packed in our lunches and I thought why not share the recipe with you! They’re simple, but they’re a classic for good reason. So, I figured they deserved a permanent spot on my website.
This recipe is an adaptation from one my grandma and mom had used over the years. I’ve substituted the Crisco for butter as that’s what I usually have on hand, but the end results are just as good in my opinion.
To make these chocolate chip cookies, you’ll need some melted butter, brown sugar, an egg, some vanilla extract, a splash of milk, all-purpose flour, baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips. They’re quick to make, perfectly sweet, and so delicious!

These chocolate chip cookies are a favourite in our home and I hope they will be in yours as well. They are easy to make and turn out every time. This is my go-to recipe and think you’ll love them too.
The cookies keep well for up to a week in an air-tight container, but I promise they will be gone long before then!
