Cherry season is a favourite in our home. Hudson and I have been eating so many this summer. We mostly just eat them as is, but once or twice per summer, a classic cherry cobbler is a must!

Why You’ll Love This Recipe

This cherry cobbler recipe is perfectly sweet and a delicious way to use up excess cherries you have in your kitchen. It’s really easy to make and is bursting with flavour. It makes a simple yet impressive dessert and the leftovers save great for days to come!

What You’ll Need

4 cups fresh cherries, pitted and halved
1/3 cup unsalted butter, melted
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 cup milk

How to Make Classic Cherry Cobbler

Preheat the oven to 350ºF.

To make the batter, in a large bowl, combine the sugar, flour, baking powder, and salt together.

Add in the vanilla extract and milk, stirring until well combined and smooth.Set aside.

In a 9×13 baking dish, combine the cherries and melted butter until the cherries are evenly coated.

Pour the batter over the cherries evenly and bake for 55-60 minutes.

Let cool at least 10 minutes before serving.

Notes + Tips

This cherry cobbler is best served warm in my opinion. Maybe with a scoop of vanilla ice cream if you’re feeling extra indulgent. That being said, the leftovers save great in an airtight container and are delicious cold the next day too!
